How to say   (a pantoum)

I cannot tell you how to do it.

You have to hear it, see it, feel it,

then listen to the silence

the way you watch the mirror of a pond.

You have to hear it, see it, feel it:

there's no formula to form,

as when you watch the mirror of a pond

and are drawn into its changing stillness.

There's no formula, only the form

arising, a shadow beneath the surface,

drawn to kiss that changing stillness

before it drifts away.  What was that rising?

It was a shadow, beneath the surface;

to see it you must listen to the silence

before it drifts away.  What was that rising?

I cannot tell you how to say.
